The Ard1 Robot is an educational tool. Every (non-electrical) component is 3D printed. This means that the basic robot structure can be printed for a few pennies.

What's in a name?

ARD = Arduino. 1 = the first of it's kind.

"Arduino" is the "family" name of the most popular group of microcontrollers for hobby, education, and "Maker" projects. If you know how to use this microcontroller, you're half way to being a control systems engineer.
